Date: October 24 0900-1200 Location: UPAP Classroom Who: Class 44-45, faculty, or anyone who would like to participate The Safe Zone Program at the University of Utah LGBT Resource Center strives to create an atmosphere of inclusion for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ+) individuals on our campus and in the surrounding community. The program raises visibility and promotes ally building through: 1. Education of individuals on LGBTQ+ issues relating to gender and sexuality and how one may intervene when they witness discrimination. 2. Creating visibility of people who can provide resources to LGBTQ+ community members and their allies. 3. Creating a safe environment on campus and in the community free from transphobia, homophobia, heterosexism, and cisgender bias. A Life-Changing Sign: A Safe Zone That Brings Hope and Trust for Our Youth and Patients Who Are LGBT
